Welcome

Welcome to Newfield Wind Farm's information website.

Glenmorie Wind Farm presents a major opportunity to harness an excellent wind resource in Sutherland and contribute to Scotland’s world-leading renewable energy targets. At the same time it presents a significant opportunity to the local and wider economy to benefit from a £**million investment that will create ** FTE jobs during construction and ** FTE jobs when operational.
In addition to the jobs and investment benefits associated with Glenmorie, a substantial community benefit fund will also be established if the project is consented. This will deliver a fund of up to £*** each year to support local community projects (links to case studies might be useful here, if available).
Using the website you can find out about the project and get in touch with us for more information. We would encourage you to complete the registration form (hyperlink) to receive regular updates.

Newfield Wind Farm presents a major opportunity to harness an excellent wind resource in the Dumfries & Galloway and contribute to Scotland’s world-leading renewable energy targets.

In addition to the jobs and investment benefits associated with Newfield, a community benefit fund will also be established if the project is consented in line with Scottish Government guidelines of £5,000 per megawatt of installed capcity. This could be equivalent to £262,000 each year to support local community development.

In February 2011 the first session of the Public Inquiry for Newfield Wind Farm was held. A further session dedicated to examining the objection by the Ministry of Defence was held in February 2013. More information about these sessions and the lastest news about the project can be found on our News page. We expect to have a decision on our application in 2014..
